June is the time of year when the young bambi fawns are starting to appear around silver trees, our peace and quiet location attract the female Doe`s to stay close by as the bracken starts to grow in May, when it reaches a good height and density the fawns are born and lay in the bracken whilst they gain their strength and confidence. We leave little islands of bracken on the nature reserve so that visitors can view both Mothers and Babies from the comfort of their holiday homes during a short break or weekly stay in our rental units.
So June July August is a great time to visit and see the youngsters appear and grow and bounce around the park as if they are on springs.
October is the time when the Autum colours and cooler temperatures ignite the “Rut” when the mature Master Bucks come to stand on the nature reserve ridge, to “bellow out their calls” to the Doe`s to be receptive to their advances, the results are what we see in June.
This has been the Fallow Deer cycle of life that has occurred in this location on Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, although Silver Trees Holiday Park has been in existance on this spot for 65 years it is just a “blink of the eye” compared to history of the wild Fallow Deer herd.
We are fortunate to see these wild animals on a daily basis which is why we are protective of our unique situation, peace and quiet is our aim, we sell holiday homes to mature couples not young familes to protect the ambience, with such a prime position overlooking the nature reserve our hire units demand a respectful attitude to the wildlife, either families or couples, over the years we have so many returning vistors to silver trees that it must be a winning formula.
